Xiu Xiu is coming through tonight. Excited to see them, they really defend their musical niche… lyrically disturbing, often sonically terrifying – with frantic drum machine and screeching/discordant electronics, and beautiful. You have to be in some mood.
‘Clowne Towne’ or ‘I Love the Valley OH!’ off Fabulous Muscles are accessible tracks.
The opener, tUnE-yArDs… dunno. I read a Micachu comparison, with sparse/tribal beats and octave-shifting vocals, aand ukulele, sweet.

Yacht is coming to town this weekend. To the small middle of nowhere, so sweet.
I’m excited. Trying to describe the music to a friend earlier, I remember using fun/self-empowering/electronic. I think I’ve heard crazy/experimental in regards to live performances, who knows! Check his interview with the setup
I’m most familiar with ‘… Your Magic Is Real’, and the newer ‘See Mystery Lights’

January 10th, 2010So, I’ve imported both my LiveJournal (LJ) and my Blogger. All posts set to private for now. I’ll work back through them and update/organize metadata.
I’m guessing WP ‘category’ ‘tags’ and ‘pages’ will be the tools to delineate posts into topic-filtered sub-blogs…
UPDATE: I’ve since moved my wp.com blog to inordinates.com/blog by way of wp.org installation. So Excited!

In iPhoto, all imgs upped to my Flickr are tagged ‘flickr’
and all imgs upped to my personal site are tagged ‘share’.
Smart albums w/ tag parameters can help keep track of what you have/haven’t uploaded.
In iPhoto I installed a plug-in from dustin.li that adds the functionality to upload [through Fire > Export] directly to my Flickr, tags included.
I used FlickrSlidr to embed a Flickr-automated back-linked slideshow of all imgs tagged ‘share’ directly to the html of my site.
So my site has short, auto-updated slideshow of choice img.s that take ppl to my Flickr.
nothing new really, just streamlining the process
update: you can do the same thing for facebook
